Cycle Time
To
check how many an operator can produce in one hour.
Cycle check
Cycle
check means to check the time of a specific operation or element from starting
point to ending point. An operator has to perform an operation or some of
operations within an allocated time that is called a cycle and every cycle have
to be repeated continue for his/her duty hours.
Cycle checking area
1. Individual operation or group of
operations performing area
2. Individual worker or group of workers
working area.
Importance of cycle check
1. Determine the time of nominated task
that how long it takes to perform.
2. Determine the time of each element of
task
3. Segregate effective & ineffective
time from total measuring time.
4. Making the graph for total view at a glance
5. Find out the over loaded and under
loaded task of worker.
6. Find out the point of bottleneck
7. Balance the task or worker for achieving the basic pieces of
production
8. Individual capacity, group of capacity
and average capacity
9. Worker performance as well as line
performance
10. Reducing productivity gap
11. How long it takes to complete the style
production
12. How many workers are required to complete
the program within time limitation?
Equipment of cycle check
1. A stop watch
2. A study board
3. Cycle check sheet
4. Pencil, eraser
Procedure of cycle check
1. Select the task / group / line --- to
be checked
2. Get idea about the selected task
3. Start it from the beginning where first
input is started as per forwarding sequence.
4. Record the operation and workers name
against the sequence number
5. Observe the time of every operation
from starting to ending
6. Record the time of machine contingency
and non-machine contingency
7. Deduct unnecessary time from observed
time
8. Deduct invalid time from valid time.
9. Calculate the total observed time,
average time and capacity of individual operation or worker.
10. Calculate total observation time, total
average cycle checked time (TACCT), BPT, LPT, HPT and capacity of individual
& group.
11. Making 1st graph with necessary
information
